TOMORROW NIGHT, I’M GOING TO THE BIRDS. 🐦😏
Well… musically, at least.
Tomorrow evening, my lovely friend CK Ballyhoo opens her new exhibition Birds & Beasties at the Astrolab Gallery – Center for the Arts, and I’m very happy to provide the soundtrack for the opening.
And no, I haven’t seen the exhibition yet either. 👀
CK is keeping the doors firmly closed until the opening, so all I know is what she has shared about the work itself – and honestly, that already makes me curious.
Birds & Beasties brings together photographs CK took during her summer holidays in Scotland and Yorkshire in 2025 and 2026. Landscapes, little details that caught her eye and, of course, the birds and other beasties she encountered along the way – including some visitors who simply appeared in the garden while she was having her morning coffee.
What I particularly like is the way CK describes her photography: she doesn’t approach it through technical perfection, but very much through feeling. She walks, looks, notices something – a colour, a contrast, a texture, a bird – and follows whatever catches her eye.
That sounds very CK to me. ❤️
Center for the arts
The Center for the Arts itself is dedicated to bringing art, culture and people together in Second Life – creating a space for exhibitions, exchange and all those different ways creativity can connect us. Cesar Lighthouse hosts regularly exhibitions and events here.
Which makes it a rather lovely home for Birds & Beasties, don’t you think? ❤️
AND WHAT WILL I BE PLAYING?
Well… if CK gives me Birds & Beasties, I’m obviously going to run with it. 😏
Expect a little musical journey from the 60s all the way to today, with birds, beasts and assorted creatures hiding somewhere along the way. No techno. No dance floor assault. 😂 More Pop, Rock, Indie, Alternative and whatever else fits the theme and finds its way into my playlist.
Some choices will probably be obvious. Others… perhaps considerably less so. 😇
So come discover Birds & Beasties with us tomorrow, have a look at CK’s photography and let me provide a suitably beastly soundtrack in the background.

And yes… the poster says Llizzy.
Apparently I gained an extra L somewhere along the way. 😂
I’m keeping it. It makes me look important.
See you there! ❤️
