The phoenix is a legendary immortal bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again.
Originating in Greek mythology, it has analogs in many cultures, such as Egyptian and Persian mythology. Associated with the Sun, a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. Some legends say it dies in a show of flames and combustion, while others say that it simply burns to death and decomposes before being born again. (Wikipedia)

Festivals of Fire
Fire festivals and fire related traditions are a part of the world history, a common heritage for all of us.
Beltane is a Celtic celebration represents moment of heightened life energy when the natural world became visibly animated. The mythology surrounding the festival reflects that intensity, describing a landscape alive with spirits, fertility.,
Hidrellez is considered a “festival of spring” in Anatolia, Balkan countries, Crimea, Azerbaijan, and in the Middle East, Iraq, and Syria. It is also known as Ederlez. During Hidrellez, people across the country make a fire and jump over it after making their wishes.

The Phoenix
I am happy to be a part in this exhibition. For this occassion I created a special picture by using mirrors in Second Life. It reflects, in a way, a phase I’ve been going through for some time now. And I think the description below fits very well.

“And when all that was left was ashes, she would again clothe herself in flame. Rising from the dust of her past to rekindle the spark of her future. She was a Phoenix, her own salvation; rebirthed, renewed, resurrected.” — LaRhonda Toreson

I hope to see you at this special venue and at the Parties. ![]()
